Important week for the Gunners

Filed under: Sports — hyery @ 4:15 pm

Arsenal are doing great ahead of Man Utd clash at OT this coming saturday(local time). 12 goals in three games certainly a cause for optimism at the Emirates.

Before that, there’s the task of finishing off Celtic at homes to proceed for the group stage in the champions league. Fabregas is out with a hamstring injury and Van Persie will be rested for this game.

As for the Man Utd game, we got an excellence chance of taking at least a point at OT. The chief tormentor of Arsenal defense last season Ronaldo is no longer available and Tevez as well, couple that with the fact that both of their stalwart in defense, Rio Ferdinand and Edwin Van der Sar are out injured.

Physically and mentally, we are in top condition, the moral is high, the togetherness is there again, Gallas seems to have recover well from a difficult season, the rest is for the players and manager to do their job. OT here we come.

Little info on Anime

Filed under: Entertainment — hyery @ 1:19 pm

Recently i’ve just finished watching this wonderful anime Chrome Shelled Regios. There are 24 episodes for this anime that started airing in January 2009 and was produced by Zexcs, one of the best studion around. They were the one responsible for the success of Speed Grapher and MY-HiMe anime.

Here’s a little description courtesy of Wikipedia:
In a post-apocalyptic world overrun with mutated beasts called Filth Monsters, humanity is forced to live in large mobile cities called Regios and learn to use weapons called DITE and harness the power of Kei to defend themselves. In the Academy City of Zuellni, Layfon Alseif is hoping to start a new life and forget his past.

However, his past has caught the attention of Karian Loss, the Student Council President and Nina Antalk, a Military Arts student and Captain of the 17th Platoon, who instantly recognizes his abilities and decides he’s the perfect candidate to join her group.

With a secret past that won’t leave him alone and unknown powers beyond normal, Layfon will have a hard time surviving this ordeal.

The action in the anime was great, i like the fight sequence which are totally out of this world. The plot may be a lil bit cliche but the great art and awesome action pretty much covered up that little blip. For those who love action fantasy anime, this anime is a must for you guys so go check it out.

Lucky win is still a win

Celtic 0 – 2 Arsenal (Gallas, Caldwell – o.g.)

Yup… that’s what happened in Arsenal match againts Celtic at Parkhead. A deflected goal off Gallas and an own goal by Celtic skipper Caldwell turned the match in Arsenal favour for the second leg at Emirates in two weeks time.

Nevertheless, i think we deserved the win considering the fact that we control the game right from the start. Celtic never really troubled the Arsenal defense courtesy of an assured performance by the excellence Vermaelen. It’s been a great start for the Gunners so let’s hope the momentum would stick till the end of the season.

On the side note, Walcott may be able to play againts Arsenal next opponent Portsmouth though still no sign on the recovery of Nasri, Fabianzski and the slight knock suffered by Eduardo. It is our first home game of the season, it’s sure to be quite an atmosphere at the Emirates. God, i wish i live just a couple block from the Emirates sigh… alas it’s not to be, so i’ll have to settle for my couch then, sigh…

Oh… big games coming soon with Arsenal visit to both Man City and Man Utd after the Portsmouth game. Hehe… i’ll be looking forward to that one, who knows, maybe, just maybe we could see some new faces in the Gunners squad. How we’ll do for this season could be predicted from the outcome of those games. Go Gunners…^_^

Arsenal send a signal of intent

Filed under: Sports — hyery @ 1:00 pm

Everton(Saha) 1 – 6 Arsenal(Denilson, Vermaellen, Gallas, Fabregas – 2, Eduardo)

Whoa… what a start to the campaign for the gunners, i really didn’t expect that, a 6-1 drubbing of Everton. Welldone guys, weldone indeed, that should keep the critics quiet for a while. Good things come to those that wait, ain’t that appropriate to sum up Arsenal game last week.

We were never really in trouble in that game aside from goalmouth clearance by Denilson from Felllaini header and a couple of opportunities here and there. The moment Denilson curled the first goal in signalled the start of a nightmare for the Evertonians. It was dreadful defending for the homeside particularly from set piece, although credit must be given to the Arsenal midfield led by Fabregas who orchestrated the game.

But still, it’s only the first game of the season and all of the sudden people are saying Arsenal are genuine title contender after that one superb performance. Well, i have no doubt that we are title contender but so are Man U, Chelsea and Liverpool, one single good performance doesn’t win you title, consistency is the name of the game. If Arsenal can reproduce such performance on a consistent basis, we’ll blow away all the other title contender, kinda like what Barcelona did in La Liga.

Next up, Celtic. Now this should be a handful for the Gunners, luckily for us they lose one of their best player in Shunsuke Nakamura to Espanyol. Still though, this fixtures are one of those banana skin scattered throughout a season. Let’s hope we can face this game with the same mentality as we did Everton.

An ass kickin’ blind dude

Yo, what’s up? Been a while since i last post here so my first order of the day is to introduce this manga wrote by Takashige Hiroshi and drawn by Double-S. I don’t wanna give anything away cuz of the awesomeness of the manga so if you guys wanna know about the description of the manga, head out to www.mangaupdates.com and look for Until Death Do Us Part, which is the title of the manga.

Now, there are a couple of reasons why you should check out this manga, firstly is the art of course. The mangaka Double-S, did a great job in the drawing. The action was cleanly pictured and wonderfully orchestrated by the author. There’s also an element of Sci-Fi added to add more kick in this manga.

The plot was really good, it was lilke a roller coaster ride with both the good and the bad try to outdo and outsmart each other. I seriously recommend this manga to everyone that love action manga, you won’t be disappointed. Currently there are 83 chapters out so go and get it at nihilsinenefas website.

Be sure to thank the group for their effort in bringing this manga to all manga fans out there. And to those guys at nihilsinenefas, you guys are the absolute best, thnx for your effort and i hope that you guys will be able to stick with this manga all the way, i know i am.

Arsenal pre-season programme ended in a disappointing fashion

Filed under: Sports — hyery @ 4:13 pm

The Gunners went down 2-0 to Valencia at the Mestalla courtesy of Michel and David Villa. Arsenal held on until the 75th minute when Michel broke the deadlock and David Villa finish things of at the death, although it was help by the fact that substitute goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski was already injured and struggling.

All in all, it was a good work out for Arsenal, that should put some reality check to Arsene Wenger to get some reinforcement sooner rather than later. Well, based on my own personal observation on Wenger transfer dealing, we can expect to get possibly one or two players near the end of the transfer period.

It was fine and all but i just think that the quicker we get them, the quicker they adapt with the rest of Arsenal Squads.

Arsenal squad looking thin

Tomas Rosicky and John Heitinga during the Emirates Cup 2009

Tomas Rosicky in action during the Emirates Cup 2009

Aww man… this really s#$ks big time, Rosicky is out for another six weeks due to hamstring injury during training. With Nasri also out injured for two month at the very least, couple that with the departures of both Adebayor and Toure we do indeed look thin.

Now is a good time for Wenger to splurged a lil bit on the money from selling player. As much as i have faith in young gunners like Fran Merida and Jack Wilshere, i still believe we need a bit more experience to compensate the loss of Nasri and Rosicky.

Possible candidate that i could think of were Ibrahim Affelay and  like my recommendation in my last post, Solomon Kalou. In fact, get the both of em, i’m sure we can afford it. Why? Well simple really, Rosicky is too injury proned, i’m not certain he can play week in week out if we are really serious about challenging for the title and what not.

Who knows maybe we can get Ribery hehe… too far fetched maybe, but wouldn’t it be great or rather, perfect. Anyway, let me know of your thoughts on the current Arsenal squads.

Hack or be Hacked?

Filed under: Manga — hyery @ 12:02 pm

Today i’m introducin’ the hottest hacking manga, Bloody Monday. The story revolves around highschool student Fujimaru Takagi and his alter ego as the mysterious legendary hacker “Falcon”.

He helped the Public Security Intelligence Agency(PSIA) through his father who also work there in dealing with threat from the net. The PSIA was investigating a simple murder, which of course later turn out to be not as simple as it seems.

From then on things turn out worse for Fujimori as his family is targeted by some international terrorist and so it’s up to him with the help of the school newspaper club member to deal with the threat. So you can expect lots of action as well not just some guy facing their PC 24/7.

All in all, the manga was a very suprising and entertaining read, it keeps you on the edge of your seat as they(the good guys and the bad guys of course) try to outdone each other. Currently there are 48 chapters available on the net if you know where to look ^_^.

Special thanks to hardworking guys at J.A.C. Group for currently working in this series with an amazing release speed, ^5 to you guys. To those who are reading this, i suggest you head there for your dose of Bloody Monday.

The world of Mori Kaoru

Filed under: Manga — hyery @ 1:59 pm

I’d like to share with you guys the world of Mori Kaoru, one of the best manga artist in term of their plot and particularly their art. Currently i’m reading three of her manga, Emma and it’s sequel Emma Bangaihen and her latest work, Otoyomegatari

From the plot point of view,  she mainly focus on drama, romance and slice of life genre. She like to picture the daily life of people through her manga and maid seems to be her main subject as shown in some of her work Emma, Emma Bangaihen, Shirley and Shirley Madison. In those manga, she manage to show the slow pace of life in 19th century England or British Empire and the ups and downs of a maid during those time.

In term of art, the best of her work has got to be Otoyomegatari. Once again the set was in the 19th century only this time instead of Europe, it was along the Silk Road connecting Asia to the Mediterranean world including North Africa and Europe. The detail in her work was wonderful and although the issue being played in the manga might be a taboo nowadays, such thing was common during those times.

What issue you might ask, well… all i can say is you should check it out for yourself, i’m sure it will worth your time.

Welcome to the world of Mori Kaoru (^_^). Enjoy…

Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen, a disappointment?

Filed under: Entertainment — hyery @ 1:26 pm

I know it’s been a while but i still wanna talk about it hehe… I only watch it last week, thank god the local cinema were still showing them.

I couldn’t find the time to watch it earlier and couple with the fact that the cinema here were filled to the brim during it’s first three weeks of showing. Transformers were big here in Malaysia, we absolutely love em’, even my parents knows bout them way b4 the movie came out.

Back to the main reason i’m writing this, i can’t help but noticed a lot of nasty review being said about this movies particularly by the critics. Well i’ enjoyed it very much and my parents also seems to be enjoying em’ too and i can safely say the general population of Malaysia all love it.

This type of movies are made to be enjoy, the type that allow to leave all the things that you are doing at that particular moment and enjoy an escaped to the world of fantasy. Kinda like Lord of The Ring or Harry Potter, it is not meant to be dissected to such detail of why or how or whatever.

Although i believed that it can be better, i think the director did well in delivering what the audience wants, in the end, i think he’s still one of us, movie goers that is ^_^.
