Spain 3( Fabregas 33, Cazorla 79, Juan Mata 90)- 0 Estonia

Spain secured their spot for next year world cup final thanks to earlier result in their favour; the 1-1 draw between Bosnia-Herzegovina and Turkey. Cesc Fabregas plays an important role in the game scoring the first goal and setting up Cazorla for the second.

It was a nervy opening for the host as Estonia created a couple of chances in which they failed to convert. The first goal settle their nerved and the Spanish was able to see off their opponents professionallly with to two more goals near the end of the game.

England also secured their spot after humbling Croatia 5-1 thanks to two goals apiece by Lampard and Gerrard with Rooney also on the scoresheet. Eduardo managed to score a consolation goal for the Croatian but only after they were well beaten by an impressive England side.

The English, Spanish and Brazil must be hot favourite for next year world cup after their performance in the qualifying  round. Though there’s still games left to play, it will only serves as a warm up matches now that they have safely qualified.

Now all eyes will be on former world champion, France and the talented side of Portugal. Both were struggling in the qualifying with Portugal losing out on the automatic spot and can only hope for the play-off spot. The French still had an outside chance for the automatic qualifying spot but the Serbian are well equiped to took that spot.

On the other side of the continent, Argentina are in big trouble as they stumble yet again and this time in the shaped of Paraguay. The host beat Argentina with a single goal by Valdez just before the half-hour mark. If their poor form continues, they are likey too miss the train to South Africa next year which is a shame really considering the talent they had at their disposal.

Next year World Cup line up has slowly began to grow and it is disturbing  to think that there’ll be no Argentina, France and Portugal in the list. Although if they really did miss out on one of the greatest sporting event in the world, they only had themselves to blame.
